Timber Banks Assistant Superintendent Position

Timber Banks is a semi-private 18-hole championship golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus that opened in 2010. Located in Baldwinsville, New York, Timber Banks is currently seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Assistant Superintendent for the 2022 golf season and beyond.

Overview

The assistant superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Superintendents supervision, the assistant will direct and participate in all aspects of maintaining the golf course.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient use of workers and equipment
  • Ability to schedule irrigation as well as repair irrigation breaks
  • Pesticide application to greens, tees, and fairways
  • Train employees on proper mowing practices as well as perform proper mowing practices Assist in personnel management and evaluation, safety, as well as discipline

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in golf course maintenance, preferably in some type of leadership role Associates degree required, preferably 4-year degree in Turf Maintenance
  • NYS Pesticide License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

Line Cook Job Description

Line Cook Requirements:

We are on the hunt for an experienced Line Cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the chef’s exact specifications.

You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked.
  • Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Report to the executive chef and follow instructions.
  • Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
  • Stock inventory and supplies.
  • Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.

Dishwasher Job Description

Dishwasher Requirements:

We are looking to employ a highly efficient dishwasher to perform all washing, cleaning and basic meal preparation duties required in our kitchen. The dishwasher responsibilities and appropriately storing washed dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.

To be successful as a dishwasher, you should display excellent communication skills and be able to follow instructions. Ultimately, an exceptional dishwasher should adhere to food health and safety regulations while carrying out all kitchen duties.

Dishwasher Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas as well as kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills.
  • Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during shifts and at the end of shifts.
  • Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Emptying, re-lining, and washing garbage cans as required.
  • Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized.
  • Assisting the Chef with basic food preparation, which includes washing, peeling, and cutting meal ingredients as per the Chef’s instructions.

Banquet Server / Bartender Job Description

Banquet Server Requirements:

We are looking for a courteous and professional Banquet Servers & Bartenders to be responsible for greeting, assisting, and serving guests at special functions and events. The Banquet Server or Bartender will help assist with event planning, preparation, and clean up, serve guests, and respond to questions, complaints, and requests.
To be a successful Banquet Server / Bartender, you should possess excellent customer service and communication skills. You should be professional, polite to guests, and an efficient server.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting guests as they enter a venue / bar and helping them to find their seats.
  • Seeing to the comfort of guests through answering questions, taking orders, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and serving food and beverages.
  • Circulating the room with trays of appetizers and or beverages.
  • Directing guests to necessary services and features, and leading guests on tours of the location.
  • Assisting with event preparation, set up, and closing, including setting up and packing away tables, tablecloths and place settings, and buffets.
  • Supporting other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Adhering to safety and quality regulations.

Requirements:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a server is preferred.
  • May need to meet age limits for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Courteous and attentive to guests.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, staying on your feet, climbing stairs, carrying heavy weights.

Starter/Ranger

The Starter/Ranger monitors play on the course, ensures appropriate pace-of-play and assists members & guests on the course as needed.  This position reports to the Director of Golf & Head Golf Professional.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet members & guests as they arrive to the first tee.
  • Advise members & guests of course conditions and cart restrictions for the day.
  • Keep a record of all rounds played, including cart usage and numbers.
  • Inform members & guests of course etiquette rules such as replacing divots, raking sand traps, repairing ball marks and the proper operation of the golf carts.
  • Record start times and monitors play on the course to ensure members and guests are playing at acceptable pace.
  • Politely and tactfully ask members & guests to speed up play if the are behind acceptable pace.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent guest services skills.
  • Some knowledge of golf is preferred.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to work well, and communicate effectively, within a team environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays & a variety of shifts.

Outside Services Staff

Reports to: Director of Golf & Head Golf Professional Seasonal Position

Position Summary

The Outside Services Staff’s responsibility is to oversee the entire outside services operation, ensuring a complete golf experience at Timber Banks for all Members and Guests.

Key Responsibilities

PRACTICE FACILITIES

  • Properly set-up all practice facilities daily
  • Ensure all practice areas are fully stocked and well-kept throughout the day
  • Execute the proper closing procedures each night

GOLF CARTS

  • Properly stage, clean and put away carts daily

GREETING AND PLAYER RECEPTION

  • Enthusiastically greet each Member and Guest upon arrival
  • Transport all golf clubs from receiving area to staging area

BAG ROOM

  • Maintain an organized and clean bag room operation
  • Clean all clubs and put back into proper storage slot
  • Stage the golf bags in the designated area for every player.  Put the bag on a pushcart or electric cart if needed

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma preferred
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.  Up to 4 hours
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on occasion
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings, and evenings as business demands
