Title

Director of Golf

Golf is a game of misses and mistakes. All golfer’s recreational and professional are only as good as their misses. Nobody has ever perfected the game, and no one ever will. My teaching philosophy is a simple, straight-forward, fundamental approach. The golf swing is most effective by using the big muscles of the body (chest, back and legs). I focus on improving what the golf ball does. What the golf ball does is my best source of diagnosing a golf swing. My swing model is based on swing plane. The swing plane determines where the ball goes, how much ground you hit and what part of the clubface the ball hits. I provide a fun and relaxed learning environment. My number one goal is to get my student to shoot lower scores!

Most of us have experience a "perfect" golf shot. High flying, straight as an arrow, right off the center of the club face to drop and stop right where it lands near the target. The kind of shot we chase day in, day out trying to repeat each and every time we bring the club back. So why doesn't it happen every time? It's my philosophy that our golf swing rarely changes even when the results are far from consistent. I contend that our golf swing is a reaction to our "starting position" or "set up" relative to an intended target. Once to understand the fundamentals of setting up to the golf ball, your natural swing can perform far more consistently. Let's face it, regardless of what we shoot golf is always more enjoyable when you're not fighting your swing.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Golf Professional is the opportunity to teach the game at all levels. Although golf swings are as individual as fingerprints, I believe there are several common dominators in all great swings. My goal as an instructor is to improve my students’ main positions of the golf swing which will provide them abilities to strike the ball more consistently. Changing or learning the golf swing is not a simple task but through proper practice and drills, permanent improvement is achievable. Personally, I have devoted a lot of time to the mental and physical side of the game and look forward to sharing how that has allowed me to be a better player in recent years. Whether you are new to the game or have aspirations to be a competitive golfer at any level, my experience and knowledge will lead you to the right path.

Teaching and promoting the game of golf is the most important part the Golf Professional’s job. As a Professional, I enjoy the opportunity to mold young people’s ideas of what to expect during this great game just as much as i enjoy the possibly of shifting the views of experienced players to promote the fun and enjoyment of the game. I do not subscribe to any particular teaching method, as I am a firm believer that one size does NOT fit all. I assess the individual’s unique abilities and limitations and use what they have to find the right teaching method to ensure their success. After spending thousands of hours on the lesson tee, what I continue to love about teaching is that each lesson presents itself with unique concerns. The solutions come from a vast array of teaching techniques and drills. The appropriate combination will see that the students’ weaknesses are addressed and they leave satisfied.

From trying to play at high levels to just wanting to fix a slice I understand how it feels. Golf can be a frustrating sport, at the same time it is one of the most rewarding. Every golfer has had good and bad shots, it is the good ones that keep you coming back. My goal as a coach is to minimize the bad shots and make your good shot better. When it comes to my teaching style I adapt to how you the golfer is able to learn and grasp ideas. Golf is already complicated the first step to simplifying it is one lesson away.
